Exciting Events and Incidents in Bryan and College Station!
In the bustling city of Bryan, there’s never a dull moment! As the clocks turned back last Sunday, Bryan police were called to a rather unusual scene at around 4:30 in the morning. They responded to a report of a man smashing a window to gain entry into a stranger’s home. A surprising turn of events unfolded when the intruder, identified as Ciro Montero-Montero, was met with a firm defense. The homeowner struck him in the ribs with an aluminum bat! After sustaining some cuts from his broken window escapade and the bat incident, Ciro was then treated at a local emergency room.
From Emergency Room to Jail
Following his treatment, Ciro found himself behind bars, charged with criminal mischief, public intoxication, and also had an outstanding warrant from a previous matter. At just 23 years old, he’s now facing serious troubles as he has his second hold for immigration officials in as many years. To add salt to the wound, his bail for these offenses totals a hefty $6,000. Talk about starting your Sunday wrong!
Another Incident in College Station
Meanwhile, over in College Station, it seems like trouble was brewing as well. A man named Ronnie Renard Williams, aged 33, had a rough night after pushing a 76-year-old man to the ground while he was out walking his dog at Bee Creek Park. Things escalated quickly when Ronnie began punching the senior citizen multiple times in the back of the head! Like a scene out of a movie, Ronnie decided to flee from police but eventually tripped and surrendered. As of November 1, he’s also sitting in jail, facing a bond totaling $30,000.
Playing at Being an Officer? Not Quite!
Not to be outdone, College Station police wrapped up another interesting case involving a man named Abideen Bello. This 43-year-old got pulled over for having outdated registration on his pickup. Cleverly, or so he thought, he tried to convince the officer that he was an officer himself, showing various documents on his phone. However, after contacting Texas Southern University, it turned out he had been fired and had little chance of landing another police job. Just 40 minutes later, the same officer found him again, and this time, he was taken into custody for providing false identification. He managed to get out on a $3,000 bond.
Halloween Shenanigans
Being Halloween, the night wasn’t without its wild parties! In the Southside neighborhood of College Station, an estimated 400 to 500 people were at a party hosted by baseball players Hayden Schott and Jace Laviolette. Police showed up to break things up and, consequently, issued tickets regarding loud party offenses. One bartender ended up in jail for furnishing alcohol to minors at this raucous event!
Drinking and Driving Dangers
Halloween brought with it some serious concerns too, as Bryan police made a concerning drunk driving arrest. A woman named Latisha Narvell, 30, had a staggering blood alcohol level exceeding three and a half times the legal limit, with tests showing .295 and .296. The worst part? She was driving with two children who were not in car seats. Reports state that the children claimed they almost had four near-crashes! Latisha is now facing charges of child endangerment along with driving under the influence, and her bond is set at $15,000.
