Volunteers Needed at Bryan Warming Center

News Summary

As temperatures plummet in Bryan, the Bryan Warming Center is seeking volunteers to assist during critical overnight shifts from January 19 to January 23. This center, located at Bryan Elks Lodge, aims to provide warmth and shelter for individuals in need. Sadly, some scheduled volunteers are unable to attend, making additional support essential on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Each volunteer shift is an opportunity to make a significant difference in the community during these harsh winter nights.

Volunteers Needed Now at Bryan Warming Center to Help Those in Need!

Hey there, Bryan! As the temperatures drop below freezing, a very special place in our community is opening its doors to help those in need of some warmth. The Bryan Warming Center is up and running, and it needs your help! This cozy spot is available from January 19 through January 23, every evening from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. at the Bryan Elks Lodge #859, located at 304 Mobile Ave.

Why Do They Need Help?

Sadly, several volunteers who were scheduled for overnight shifts just can’t make it, and the center urgently needs extra hands on deck for both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The Warming Center is open to anyone seeking shelter from the cold, so it’s essential that we provide the warmth and comfort everyone deserves during these chilling nights.

When Can You Volunteer?

Got some time to lend a hand? The Warming Center has a range of shifts available for volunteers, and each one helps ensure that everyone has a warm bed or a comfy chair to rest in:

  • 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Each shift is a chance to make a real difference as you help others find a safe haven from the freezing temperatures.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a volunteer, your duties will be quite simple yet incredibly impactful. You’ll help check in guests as they arrive, ensure everyone gets some snacks to munch on, and provide water to keep everyone hydrated. It’s a straightforward role that can mean the world to someone who needs a warm place to lay their head.

How to Get Involved

Ready to step up and volunteer? That’s fantastic! You can get more information or sign up by reaching out to 2-1-1 or calling 979-329-8811. Every bit of help counts, and your participation can bring comfort to those who are facing tough times this winter.

Join Hands for a Good Cause

So, whether you can spare just a few hours or the entire night, your effort in this community outreach is invaluable. It’s a great opportunity not only to help out those in need but also to connect with fellow community members who are just as eager to pitch in. Don’t wait to be part of something special in Bryan. Sign up and show our neighbors that they do not have to face the cold alone!

Remember, this isn’t just about providing shelter; it’s about uniting as a community in a time of need. Let’s show everyone that Bryan is a place of warmth, inside and out!
