Communities Across Central Texas Unite to Honor Veterans This November 11th

As we roll into November, it’s the time of year when we take a moment to reflect and show our appreciation for those who have bravely served our country. And this Veterans Day, several communities in Central Texas have planned some heartwarming ceremonies and events to honor veterans and their sacrifices.

College Station: A Grand Homage at Texas A&M

In the bustling city of College Station, the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets is set to host a special Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11. Kicking off at 11 a.m., this event promises to be a moving tribute, highlighted by the ceremonial laying of wreaths at both the Memorial Student Center and the Corps Memorial Plaza. It’s an event not to be missed if you want to show your respect and support!

Killeen: Honoring Our Heroes with Flags

Just a short drive away in Killeen, the Central Texas State Veterans Ceremony will be taking place earlier in the day with a flag laying ceremony starting at 8 a.m.. Interestingly, you don’t even need to RSVP! So if you’re looking to participate, just show up and join in as they provide flags for everyone to honor those who have sacrificed so much.

Belton: Community Leaders Come Together for Veterans

On the same day, people will gather in Belton at 11 a.m. for a heartwarming ceremony planned in front of the Chamber office located at 412 E. Central Avenue. This ceremony will be marked by the presentation of colors from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s ROTC Color Guard and will bring together community leaders who will offer their greetings. Local VFW commanders will also present during the ceremony to share their thoughts, making it a meaningful way to connect with veterans and community members alike.

Waco: A Parade of Honor

Over in Waco, the festivities will be even more spirited with a Veterans Day parade also taking place on Monday at 11 a.m.. The parade will march down Austin Avenue, between 11th Street and Heritage Square. This is a fantastic opportunity to cheer on our veterans and the dedicated Central Texas VA staff who support them. Nothing quite beats the sight of proud faces and waving flags as the parade marches by!

Brazos Valley: A Unifying Ceremony

The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board is also stepping up to host their annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11th at the American Pavilion Veterans Park & Athletic Complex, located at 3101 Harvey Road in College Station. This yearly gathering is a wonderful way for the community to come together to remember and honor those who have served. Whether you’re a veteran or just someone who appreciates their sacrifice, this event is sure to inspire.
