Volunteers Urgently Needed for United Way of the Brazos Valley’s Day of Action Event

An earnest call for volunteers has been issued by the United Way of the Brazos Valley (UWBV) for their Annual Day of Action event, slated for Thursday, June 20th. This event has been a staple in the community, with residents coming out in their numbers each year to lend a hand.
Assembling Baby Bundles for Early Literacy
This year the volunteering activities revolve around early childhood literacy, with the plan being to assemble 2,000 “baby bundles.” Each bundle is designed to promote early literacy and contains a baby book, a tactile toy, and essential resources for new parents. The distribution of the bundles is planned to take place in hospitals with maternity wards and several birthing centers in the area, before the new mothers and their newborns leave for home.
Set up and Tear Down Volunteers
Additional volunteers are required to prepare for and clean up after the activity. This includes setting up and tearing down the assembly line at SOS Ministries in Bryan. Volunteers will also be needed to transport the baby bundles to the UWBV’s storage facility once they are assembled.
