Truck Crashes into House in Bryan, Leads to Multiple Arrests and Significant Drug Seizure

A Series of Arrests in Bryan, Texas

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Bryan police brought in a series of individuals on various charges, following a series of incidents that began when a pickup truck crashed into a residential dwelling. Christopher Martinez, 17-year-old Bryan native was arrested following the incident where his pickup truck smashed into a house just past 3:30 a.m. Breath alcohol tests indicated that Martinez was around twice the legal intoxication limit at .170 and .164.

Although there were no immediate reports of injuries due to the crash, the unfortunate event triggered a series of consequential arrests and drug seizures. Martinez, accused of DWI and unlicensed driving, was released after posting bonds totaling $4,215.

Seizure of Over a Pound of Methamphetamine

On a related note, Bryan police seized an impressive load of more than a pound of methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop. The arrest report released by the Bryan Police Department (BPD) cites that one of the reasons for the stop was due to the driver signaling incorrectly for a turn.

Upon closer inspection and confrontation with the driver, officers found him to have an existing warrant for possession of a controlled substance. With the discovery of a small plastic bag testing positive for methamphetamine, this led to a more thorough search of the vehicle.

Inside the trunk, they discovered a container filled with approximately 21 ounces of meth, a quantity that would be valued well over $1,200 on the street. The 43-year-old driver, Cuauhtemoc Deleon, now faces additional charges for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia, and more. The report found that his bonds totaled up to $57,000 and he remains in jail as of July 9th.

Residential Dispute Leads to Arrest on Five Warrants

Following these instances, Brazos County sheriff’s deputies were called to a verbal disturbance at a home just west of College Station last Saturday. On arriving at the scene, deputies apprehended a resident, Joshua Balboa Trevino, who was found to be wanted on five separate warrants.

Four of these warrants were related to unpaid fines and court costs, amounting to a combined $3,068. These fines and costs were later credited against jail time served by Trevino. His fifth warrant was based on an earlier charge of criminal trespass from January. Trevino also faces charges of resisting arrest, with bonds on these charges set at a combined total of $8,000.

Despite the collision and subsequent arrests, it appears that the residents of Bryan can breathe a sigh of relief. Everyone involved has been appropriately dealt with, and it is hoped that these significant arrests will send a clear message to those considering such illicit activities in the future.
