As heavy rains are expected, areas near and north of the Interstate 10 corridor are under a Flood Watch until 7 a.m. Friday. Rainfall between three to six inches is predicted with isolated spots potentially seeing totals between six and twelve inches.

The National Weather Service’s statement read, “Storms continue to slowly slide south and east, with the strongest storms remaining north of our coverage area. The expectation is for storms to begin developing further south over the next 1-2 hours. Large hail and damaging winds possible. Locally heavy rain as well.”
