As the end of July draws near, students all across Texas are gearing up to return to their respective college campuses for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester. This year will once again see hundreds of thousands of students flock to the numerous higher learning institutions found throughout the state, signifying a return to normalcy after the tumultuous times that have passed.

With its 1.56 million student populace, Texas continues to stand as the state with the second highest college student population in the United States, coming second only to California. As the new semester approaches, here are the move-in and start dates for 12 of the top universities across Texas:

Texas A&M University at College Station: Aug. 19

With over 74,000 students, Texas A&M holds the title of the largest university in Texas and indeed the entire U.S. Their move-in dates for Fall 2024 semester are between August 15-18, with classes starting on August 19. Find more about Texas A&M University’s Fall 2024 schedule here.

University of Texas at Austin: Aug. 26

Known for its top-tier research initiatives, UT Austin hosts nearly 52,000 students. The move-in days for students are scheduled from August 23-24, and classes formally begin on August 26. Access UT Austin’s Fall 2024 schedule here.

University of North Texas: Aug. 19

University of Houston: Aug. 19

Texas Tech University: Aug. 22

Texas State University: Aug. 26

University of Texas at San Antonio: Aug. 26
