Texas A&M University Update Focuses on School Start, Enrollment, and More
College Station, TX – August 27, 2024
Dr. Susan Ballabina, Chief of Staff to the President of Texas A&M University, recently visited WTAW’s Scott DeLucia to discuss several university-related topics, including the start of the academic year, university enrollment, and new student orientations. The two also conversed about ongoing collaborations with community partners, the search for a new Commandant, the future of ticket pull, a new television commercial, updates regarding KAMU, and more.
President Welsh’s Message
A message from university President, General Mark A. Welsh III, was also part of the discussion. In his message, President Welsh addressed the ongoing Student Experience and Capacity Studies that aim to provide insight into how the university can enhance its foundations based on what has been learnt from the Quick-Look Assessment for the main campus.
Student Experience Study and Capacity Study
The Student Experience Study explored documenting the current student experience at Texas A&M, and making recommendations on how to offer the nation’s No. 1 experience to students. As part of this study, student feedback was collected through pop-up surveys and listening sessions. Combining this input with existing institutional data resulted in a comprehensive assessment of the current student experience.
Feedback on the findings of the Student Experience Study is now being sought from faculty, staff, and students until Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
In addition to the Student Experience Study, the university also carried out a Capacity Study. This investigation looked at current infrastructure, teaching capacities, and staffing levels to identify the current and future capacity for enrollment on the main campus. The study also aimed to identify any near to mid-term adjustments required to better serve the entire university community.
Feedback on the findings of the Capacity Study is now being sought from faculty, staff and students until Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
The online form for feedback on these studies is available until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. President Welsh encourages students, faculty, and staff to contribute their thoughts to shape the future trajectory of Texas A&M University.
