Public Input Needed for New Roadway Proposal in Bryan-College Station

Public Input Wanted for Proposed Roadway in Bryan-College Station

Residents of Bryan and College Station, gather around! There’s an exciting opportunity coming up for you to weigh in on a proposed new roadway that could change the way we travel in our lovely area. Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 7, from 5-7 p.m. The Brazos Center, located at 3232 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan, will host an open house aimed at collecting public input on what’s being called the Inner Loop East Study.

What’s the Big Deal?

So, what’s this Inner Loop East all about? In simple terms, it’s an initiative led by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in collaboration with Brazos County, Bryan, and College Station. The goal is to explore the possibility of a new north-south road that would run to the east of our cities. This proposed roadway would help to improve traffic flow in the area, making it easier for everyone to get where they need to go.

Potential Route

While no specific alignment has been decided just yet, one potential route could stretch from the vicinity of William D. Fitch Parkway and Texas 30 all the way to where FM 2818 meets Texas 6 north of Bryan. Just imagine how this could alleviate congestion, especially during rush hour!

Your Voice Matters

This open house is the perfect chance for you to learn more about the project. Not only will attendees receive information about its current status, but there will also be a discussion on the development process, proposed alignments, and what the next steps will be. Plus, there will be ample opportunity for community members to leave their thoughts and feedback right at the meeting!

Can’t Make It? No Problem!

If you can’t attend the meeting but still want your voice heard, there are several other ways to submit your comments. Feel free to send your feedback via email to brazosinnerloopeast@quiddity.com, call or text 979-383-2036, or even mail your thoughts. If you choose to mail in your comments, be sure they’re postmarked by Friday, November 22 to ensure they are included in the official meeting record.

A Busy Future

Alongside the proposed roadway discussions, it’s also worth noting that the FM 2818 TxDOT project is slated for completion in the fall of 2024. This part of ongoing developments shows the commitment to enhancing our local infrastructure, which is especially vital as both Bryan and College Station continue to grow.

Join the Conversation!

This is your chance to get involved in shaping the future of transportation in our beloved cities! Whether you have ideas, concerns, or just want to learn more about the proposed Inner Loop East, make sure to swing by the Brazos Center on November 7th. Our community thrives on the voices of its residents, and your input could make a significant difference in the outcome of this exciting project.

So, do you have thoughts on the new roadway? Will it improve your daily commute? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to share your perspective. Be a part of the change, because together, we can make Bryan and College Station even better!
