Massive Drug Bust Follows Arrest of Young Suspect

Bryan, Texas—College Station Cops Solve Significant Drug Case

In the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, April 23, College Station police, armed with a bomb squad and hostage negotiation unit, invaded a peaceful Bryan neighborhood. The home at the center was located on Tanglewood Drive, adjacent to Midwest Drive. According to a College Station Police Department spokesman, the search culminated in the detention of 21-year-old, Daegin Hamilton.

Details of the Arrest

Hamilton is accused of possessing between five and 50 pounds of marijuana, intending to deliver an undisclosed amount of three unidentified types of controlled substances. The results revealed that police had confiscated 8.18 pounds of marijuana, 269.4 grams of fraudulent Adderall pills laced with methamphetamine, 144.1 grams of cocaine, and vape cartridges containing 57 grams of THC. Hamilton reportedly confessed to selling marijuana, Adderall, and cocaine for several months and admitted to the presence of a large stash of drugs in the house.

Aftermath and Legal Proceedings

As of Wednesday morning, April 24, Hamilton remains incarcerated with bonds totaling $44,000. Bond has yet to be fixed. The consequences of the Bryan bust could ripple throughout the community as investigations expand and further potential accomplices and drug networks are revealed.

Approval of Demolition Contracts and Future Plans for Bryan

The former Bryan ISD administration building will soon be reduced to history as Brazos County officials voted to demolish the structure. Next on the agenda are the demolition and clearance of Texas Avenue and William Joel Bryan Parkway’s site, which come with a $264,000 price tag. Additionally, two portable buildings at the juvenile justice center are slated for removal at a cost of $40,000, along with a “center house” from the county jail for $7,000. The demolished site of the old BISD/bank building is planned to house a new building, marking the start of a new era of growth and development in Bryan.
