The deadly shooting late Sunday night, in the picturesque College Station town, had the residents and law enforcement unsettled. The victim, later identified as 17-year-old Richard Elijah Hilton, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the corner of University Oaks Blvd. and George Bush Dr.

The Tragic Incident

The local law enforcement fielded several 911 distress calls reporting gunshots in the area. Responding to the calls, an officer found the victim in a tragic state, fighting for his life. Despite immediate aid rendered by the officer and later by responding firefighters, Hilton, it would later emerge, couldn’t be saved. The teenager was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Investigation Process

The initial investigation has led the police to believe that the crime site was in the vicinity of The Vibe apartments, just off Harvey Rd. Police request anyone with information about the incident to come forward and aid the investigation process. The police, as well as apartment management, have lauded the positive participation and suggestions of the residents during this trying time. The residents reaffirmed their confidence in the new management’s initiatives and hoped for an improved situation, eager to contribute towards the safety of their community.
