Holiday Cheer Shines Bright at Bryan High School’s Spectacular Electric Light Orchestra Performance

Holiday Cheer Shines Bright in Bryan!

This week, residents of Bryan were treated to a spectacular event as the Bryan High School Orchestra dazzled audiences with their annual Electric Light Orchestra performance. It was an evening that beautifully blended stunning music with a lively light show.

A Magical Opening

The enchanting evening kicked off with a delightful performance by the Bryan High Mariachi Los Vikingos band. This festive opener set the tone for what was to come, as it introduced the audience to a day filled with vibrant sounds and joyous celebrations.

A Unique Performance

The Bryan High School Orchestra showcased an electric holiday set throughout the day, entertaining not only the students of Bryan ISD but also the local community. Junior violinist, Natalia Hernandez, shared her thoughts on the thrilling elements of the show, saying, “The lights certainly bring like an enjoyment and excitement of like, ‘oh my goodness,’ like we’re not just like some orchestra that’s like going to be playing some melodic music.”

A Sensory Experience

The orchestra’s performance was more than just music; it was a full-blown sensory experience! The integration of rock elements and sounds reminiscent of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra not only attracted attention but also created an immersive atmosphere for the audience. Natalia couldn’t help but gush, “My favorite part, honestly, has to be the audience. It’s something that we work so hard for, and then just to see their faces, see the reaction, like how they just go crazy over the music- it’s awesome.”

Behind the Scenes Dedication

But let’s not forget about the hard work that goes into these performances. Band members revealed that they had been practicing since October to bring their musical magic to life. “There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work,” shared Trinity Rush, another junior violinist. “We do after-school rehearsals. We’ve done, like, personal practices at home, over breaks. You have to make sure you stay on top of our music and, like, keep getting that repertoire. ”

Your Chance to Join the Fun

If you missed the earlier shows, here’s your chance! The orchestra will be hosting their final performance for the public at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Performing Arts Center located at 801 South Coulter Drive in Bryan. This is an opportunity to experience the mixing of traditional orchestral sound with thrilling electric vibes while enjoying an unforgettable light show. Don’t miss out on this magical evening!
