Halloween Spirit Takes Over Bryan with Special Screenings!

As cool mornings and the sound of leaves crackling underfoot greet residents of Bryan, it’s clear that fall is settling in nicely. And what better way to embrace the spooky season than by diving into the magic of **Halloween movies**? The Queen Theatre, a beloved venue in downtown Bryan, has rolled out its thrilling lineup of classic horror films that have already begun to capture the imagination of locals.

Spooky Screenings at The Queen Theatre

Starting from mid-October, the theater has been showcasing a head-spinning variety of Halloween favorites that include *The Shining*, *Scream*, *Friday the 13th*, *Nosferatu*, and *Halloween*. One standout hit has been *The Lost Boys*, the iconic 1987 horror comedy featuring teenage vampires that has left audiences chuckling and gasping in equal measure.

What made it even more special was a unique event called **Monster Movie Mockery**. During one of the screenings of *The Lost Boys*, local commentating stars J.T. Habersaat, English Matt, and Brian Posehn joined in for some lighthearted fun, mixing comedy sketches with a dash of horror trivia. “That specific event we sold a lot of tickets, and a lot of the people that came were grandparents that watched the movie when they were kids,” shared Emily Locke, who runs the show at The Queen. The event turned into a delightful trip down memory lane, with attendees embracing the nostalgia and humor of the film.

Encouraging Audience Participation

The atmosphere in The Queen Theatre is unmistakably festive, with Halloween decorations enhancing the vibe. The manager, Cameron Harris, hopes the Halloween spirit spills over into the audience. “I would love to see people come in here with costumes and dressing up, wanting to be a part of the show,” Harris expressed. With thrilling films on the lineup, he thinks it’d add to the fun! Harris himself is in the Halloween spirit, sporting his stunning Joker suit that he bought a couple of years back—an outfit he’s excited to wear again this season.

A Touch of the Supernatural?

Interestingly, while the decorations may just be for show, some spooky elements linger beyond what meets the eye. Whispers among employees suggest that the theatre is haunted by the ghost of the owner’s father, affectionately referred to as “Billy.” Harris recounted a particularly chilling experience: “I was up at the bar when I heard three huge stomps in the office, and I was the only one here. I went to check it out, and there was nobody there. I don’t think I ever closed faster in my life; it was absolutely terrifying!”

Exciting Finalé: The Countdown to Halloween

Those eager for a good scare can enjoy Halloween screenings until October 28. Don’t miss out on the chance to catch legendary films like *The Exorcist*, a horror tale that is loosely based on real-life events, alongside other thrilling titles like *The Strangers* and *The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2*. As Halloween approaches, the theatre promises more delightful shocks and laughs to keep audiences entertained and on the edge of their seats.

If you’re in Bryan, grab your family or friends, don your best costume, and head over to The Queen Theatre for a spooktacular evening filled with laughter, chills, and a sprinkle of ghostly charm. Who knows? You might even come face-to-face with ‘Billy’! Embrace the Halloween spirit—it’s sure to be a frightfully good time!
