In developments from the College Station City Council, a contract worth $9.4 million for the reconstruction of Lincoln Avenue was awarded. The project, which starts in June, will see the road transformed into a concrete street with roundabouts at Munson and Nimitz, new sidewalks, a right turn lane on Lincoln at University, and the replacement of water and sewer lines.
Finally, the Bryan city council has revoked an ordinance that banned off-premise alcohol consumption in the downtown area, making it uniform with the rest of the city. This means that local businesses with appropriate licenses can now sell alcoholic beverages for both on-premise and off-premise consumption.
