Local Businesses Recognized for their Rapid Growth Amid Economic Uncertainties
College Station, Texas- Local business leaders in Bryan and College Station congregated on Wednesday to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the area’s fastest-growing businesses. The Bryan Rotary Club’s 31st annual Business Performance Awards delineated the rapidly advancing local firms in Brazos County, spanning several industries.
These honorees have demonstrated impressive growth, despite a number of businesses shutting their doors in the past few months, with some attributing the closures to increasing costs. The success stories, however, show immense prosperity with growth rates ranging from over 60% up to nearly 1,100%, thereby generating jobs and driving the local economy.
Notable Honorees and their Exceptional Growth
The event recognized I:55 Books Fairs, having an impressive growth surpassing over 600%. The company’s CEO, Glenn Hawley, acknowledged the current economic status driving costs upward, but remained confident about overcoming the challenges. “Growth is awesome, but there are growing pains as well,” he said. Hawley affirmed the company’s strategy of intentional growth as a vital element to sustain their progression.
The leading performer of the night was FERA Diagnostics and Biologicals, an animal health company working specifically in the swine and bovine sector. Emphasizing their role in “enriching and enhancing opportunities for feedlots, farmers, and ranchers,” Accounting Manager Karla Gratehouse expressed excitement at offering job opportunities and partnerships with local educational institutions.

Eligibility criteria for the awards emphasized private, independently-held firms originating in Brazos County and having been established for at least 5 years. Sales within the range of $50,000 and $25 million were accounted for.
