As residents grapple with these events, the underlying message remains clear: violence does not solve issues.
In a series of troubling events that have shaken the community, three separate stabbing incidents have recently come to light in College Station and its neighboring areas. Residents are left wondering what’s going on in their town, as violent acts unfold in places where friends gather and families live.
In a dramatic turn of events, 36-year-old Angel Llamas has been sentenced to a staggering 34 years in prison after being convicted for a brutal stabbing that occurred at Four Downs Sports Bar on March 25, 2023. What started as a simple fistfight over pool tables escalated into a night of horror when Llamas reportedly stabbed another man five times — four in the torso and once in the face. The victim’s injuries were severe enough that he needed immediate medical attention at CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan.
After the victim sought help and police got involved, they swiftly identified Llamas as the suspect. He was taken into custody on April 4, 2023, not only for the stabbing but also for violating parole from an earlier conviction involving gang-related activities. During the trial, Llamas claimed he was acting in self-defense, but testimonies from witnesses painted a different picture, suggesting that he tried to intimidate the victim into dropping charges after the incident.
In a separate incident, 37-year-old Terrence Foley has been arrested for a horrifying stabbing at an apartment complex on Brentwood Drive. Foley allegedly broke into the home he shared with the victim, using a kitchen knife to stab her multiple times. This domestic dispute escalated further when Foley barricaded himself in a motel room for about an hour during a standoff with police.
Authorities eventually managed to break a window to apprehend him without further harm to anyone involved. Foley is now facing serious charges including aggravated assault with a weapon causing serious bodily injury and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony. His bond is set at an eye-watering $200,000, and he remains behind bars as the case progresses.
Both victims sustained severe lacerations and were airlifted to Memorial Houston Hospital for critical care. Gonzalez escaped the scene but was caught five hours later near Corpus Christi with help from multiple law enforcement agencies. He is currently facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, showing that the ripple effects of these actions can be devastating.
With each new report, the community feels the weight of these incidents. As friends, neighbors, and family members reflect on their own safety, the underlying message becomes clear: violence is not the answer, and self-defense claims should never be misused to justify retaliatory actions.
As these cases unfold in courtrooms and police departments, residents are left grappling with sorrow and disbelief. College Station and its surrounding communities must now come together to support one another during these challenging times.
