The joyous reactions from representatives of local nonprofits ranged from excited cheers to impromptu dances, proving that this funding truly makes a difference. “That is a huge impact to a nonprofit, any nonprofit big or small, and to see their faces and to see the dances they’re doing, we’re doing the happy dance too,” Watson commented, capturing the infectious enthusiasm of the day.

Fast forward to the present, and it’s evident that this initiative has blossomed into a significant source of funding for numerous local causes. “When we think about food insecurity, when we think about youth development programs, when we think about the arts and healthcare, etc., many of the resources are the nonprofits in our community,” Gerling explained, emphasizing how vital these organizations are in addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the community.
