A College Station man was tragically killed in a shooting incident that occurred in the small town of Ledbetter based in Lee County. 36-year-old Carlos Ramone Greene, who was found dead, was identified as the victim, according to the reports from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
Greene’s lifeless body was found in the early morning of March 5, lying in the 1100 Block of County Road 123 in Ledbetter, supposedly riddled with gunshot wounds. Despite being discovered in Ledbetter, Greene’s driver’s license confirmed him to be a resident of College Station. He was also known for often visiting the area where he tragically met his end.
Following the discovery of the body, LCSO arranged for it to be transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office in Austin for a detailed autopsy. This procedure will shed more light on the exact cause of Greene’s unfortunate demise and provide additional evidence regarding the crime.
Efforts to hunt down the alleged criminals responsible for Greene’s death are being ramped up. The Texas Rangers are now working alongside LCSO in a joint collaborative effort to bring the accused to justice. The investigation is still ongoing, and no suspects have yet been identified publicly.
LCSO is urging anyone with information related to the incident or Greene’s untimely death to come forward and assist with the investigation. They have urged potential witnesses or informants to contact them at 979-542-2800. For those wishing to remain anonymous, they can call the Bluebonnet Area CrimeStoppers at their toll-free number 866-930-TIPS. Assistance from the public could play a crucial part in solving this case and ensuring that justice is served for Carlos Ramone Greene.
