Exciting Developments in College Station: Hilton College Station’s Transformation & City Council Updates

Hey there, College Station! It’s thrilling to see our city buzzing with activity lately, especially with the transformative changes happening at the Hilton College Station. If you haven’t heard yet, the hotel is set to undergo a **stunning makeover** that’s bound to elevate our local hospitality industry!

A New Era for Hilton College Station

Rick Minicozzi, the owner of Hilton College Station, is cooking up some amazing plans. Since acquiring the property in November 2022, Rick has put his heart and soul into creating a welcoming atmosphere. With the stunning new pool area, the lively Reveille rooftop bar and kitchen, and the charming restaurant called “The Dean” recently unveiled, the feedback from the community has been incredibly uplifting!

But that’s just the beginning! In December, the hotel will kick off another exciting phase by renovating an **additional 240 guest rooms**. Out of the total, 60 rooms have already received a facelift, but the remaining spaces will see a complete transformation. Think about tearing down everything to the studs, installing new wall finishes, and laying down fresh carpet. Not to mention, the plumbing and fixtures will be replaced, along with brand spanking new furniture. Sounds like a dream, right?

What’s more, the Hilton is now part of an exclusive group of hotels – one of just 90 certified by the **International Association of Conference Centers** (IACC) for its state-of-the-art meeting facilities. That’s fantastic news, as it opens up opportunities for more business and events right here in College Station!

City Council Adjustments

The council members voting in favor of this change – Harvell, Elizabeth Cunha, Mark Smith, and Bob Yancy – felt it was a necessary step for better representation. However, there was some opposition, with councilmen Dennis Maloney and William Wright, along with Mayor John Nichols, preferring to wait until after the November 5 election when three new council members will be in place. Interesting dynamics to watch as the tourism committee begins to take shape!

Traffic Incident on Highway 30

Fortunately, the drivers of the Camaro and Beetle were taken to a local Bryan hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and thankfully, there were no passengers involved in the crash. It’s a good reminder for all of us to stay vigilant and safe on the roads!

Updates from Texas A&M

So, let’s all stay tuned as College Station continues to evolve and grow! With all these developments, there’s never been a better time to be part of this vibrant community!
