College Station Firefighters Extinguish Apartment Complex Fire

COLLEGE STATION, TX – A sudden fire at an apartment complex on Central Park Lane was successfully managed by the College Station Fire Department on Thursday morning.

Emergency Response Instigated

According to Capt. Stuart Marrs of the College Station Fire Department, a 911 call was made just after 9:15 a.m. The caller reported seeing smoke and flames emanating from the building. Responding to the emergency call, 11 fire department units, encompassing 28 firefighters and one fire investigator, were dispatched to the location.

Quick Action From Staff and Firefighters Protects Residents

Upon arrival of the fire emergency units, apartment complex employees were already alerting neighbors by knocking on doors. Their swift action assisted in the successful evacuation of the building’s occupants. Three pets were also rescued from the building and subsequently reunited with their owners.

Fire Control Achieved Promptly

The fire crew was able to bring the fire situation under control by 9:27 a.m., merely 12 minutes after the initial emergency call. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Fire Investigation Results

Initial investigation into the fire points towards it being an unintentional cooking fire. Verification of this cause is currently underway.
