News Summary

Authorities in College Station have apprehended multiple suspects in recent drug-related investigations. A traffic stop led to a chase and the arrest of William Antoune Thomas, who faces serious drug charges. Additionally, a larger narcotics investigation resulted in the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of $50,000 worth of counterfeit drugs, highlighting rising concerns over drug activities in the area. Community cooperation is urged to combat this growing issue.

College Station Sees Drug Busts and Arrests

In the bustling city of College Station, authorities have had their hands full recently with a series of drug-related arrests that have locals buzzing. It all began when a routine traffic stop on a Sunday led to the apprehension of a man wanted for serious drug charges. William Antoune Thomas, 39, was wanted for a first-degree felony drug charge when College Station police pulled him over.

A Chase and Arrest

Things took a dramatic turn when Thomas decided to lead police on a brief pursuit. Ultimately, he was caught and charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. To make matters worse, he was already facing a significant warrant for the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, specifically fentanyl, between 200-400 grams. He also faced a pardon and parole warrant.

During the chase, keen-eyed officers noticed Thomas reaching under his seat, which led to the discovery of a ripped plastic bag containing wet marijuana right underneath. A further search revealed even more, with police noticing leafy green flakes on Thomas’ tongue. He was quickly booked into the Brazos County Jail, where he’s currently not eligible for bond due to the outstanding warrant. Thomas has a lengthy criminal history with a staggering 24 arrests for various drug offenses dating back to 2003.

Narcotics Investigation Unfolds

Meanwhile, drug-related activities were not isolated to just one individual. Five other suspects were taken into custody as part of an extensive narcotics investigation by the College Station Police Department (CSPD) that began way back in late April. This investigation unearthed a troubling trend involving the sale of cocaine and fraudulently pressed Adderall pills. Search warrants executed in August yielded some astonishing results.

On August 8, around 1,500 counterfeit Xanax and Adderall pills were seized, along with 70 THC vape cartridges. The estimated street value of this haul? A whopping $50,000! This bust is raising serious concerns among local residents about the ongoing issue of counterfeit drugs in the area.

The Arrests

The suspects arrested in connection with this investigation include:

  • Daegin Hamilton, 21, of Bryan – facing three counts of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, with a bond set at $44,000.
  • Kate-Lynn Lindeman, 20, of Whitney – charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and has a bond of $25,000.
  • Alexander Welch, 27, of Temple – charged with possession of marijuana with a bond of $12,000.

Additionally, a suspect named Cooper Currie, 28, of Bryan is still on the run, with an arrest warrant issued against him for three counts of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.
