COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A liquor store owner is appealing to the public for help after a group of thieves reportedly pilfered several hundred dollars worth of alcohol on Monday. The incident happened in the middle of the day at the Liquor Mart, situated on Holleman Drive W near Harvey Mitchell Parkway. The theft operation unfolded while a lone staff member was manning the store.
The staff member was either behind the counter or otherwise preoccupied when the theft took place. According to surveillance footage, the thieves – comprising three men and one woman carrying a large purse – started taking multiple small and large bottles of liquor from the shelves. They stuffed them into their pants and the woman’s purse for easy concealment.
After spending a few minutes inside the store, the group hastily left the premises, climbing into a silver SUV and driving away from the scene of the crime.
The store owner’s plea to the public extends to anyone who can provide details that might shed light on the suspects’ identities or support the authorities’ investigation efforts. College Station Police Department, designated to receive the shared information, can be reached on 979-764-3600. A video clip showing the suspects, their mode of operation, and their getaway vehicle has been attached.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the frequent loss of property businesses suffer due to theft. Beyond the monetary loss, such disregard for law and order erodes trust and threatens the integrity of communities. Authorities and business owners alike hope that the surveillance video and public assistance will lead to the quick apprehension of the perpetrators.
