Bryan, Texas – A new twist has arisen in the investigation of the four men previously accused of alleged molestation of a 14-year-old boy. One of the accused men, identified as Ryan Michael Hoffart, faces additional charges relating to child trafficking.
According to the Brazos County jail records, Hoffart was taken back into custody early Thursday following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest. Hoffart is charged with Trafficking a Child/Engaging in Sexual Conduct. This charge stems from an alleged incident that happened in October of 2021, and it comes as a first-degree felony with his bond set at $150,000.
Specifics on this new charge are currently unavailable. It is essential to note that Hoffart, along with three others, faces charges of indecency with a child by exposure. Investigators claim the men exposed themselves to the 14-year-old boy when they were part of the Mountain Valley Fellowship Church community in Brazos County and members of the Texas A&M’s Chi Alpha Christian fraternity located in College Station.
Preceding the trafficking charge, Hoffart, who had not yet been indicted, was initially charged with Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, reckoned as a second-degree felony. His arraignment is set for 2 p.m. on July 30th.
His co-accused, William Johnson, Otto Randolph, and Alexander Owen were indicted by a grand jury last month on the Indecency with a Child by Exposure charge, which is a third-degree felony. According to Brazos County’s jail records, Owen has not been apprehended to date.
The accused men also find themselves named in a civil lawsuit filed in Harris County. As this case continues to unravel, the outcomes will undoubtedly reverberate through these communities, raising questions about the safety and protection of our children.
As the legal process unfolds, there will be more details available regarding the charges and their implications. It serves as a sharp reminder to all of us about the importance of diligent observance to ensure the safety and protection of our children in all spaces.
