Chadwell Hires Howarth for Women’s Golf, Completing the Coaching Staff
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – On Monday Texas A&M women’s golf head coach Gerrod Chadwell announced the hiring of Allison Howarth as an Assistant Coach. The addition completes the coaching staff, bringing an impressive range of experience and skill to the Aggie team.
About Allison Howarth:
Howarth is a welcome addition to the team, having spent the previous three seasons as an assistant for the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s golf staff. Her renowned drive and passion played a significant role in her hiring process. Gerrod Chadwell expressed his excitement stating, “Allison brings a wealth of experience to our program…it was clear she was incredibly driven and passionate. She loves to work; I am thrilled to get her back to Texas and join our staff.”
Howarth’s Career Highlights as a Coach:
At the University of Incarnate Word, she served as a graduate assistant followed by a promotion to head coach in her final three seasons. Under her guidance, the team saw an 82-spot ranking improvement by Golfstats. While at UIW, she trained student-athletes to achieve top career low rounds and the highest career scoring averages in the school’s history.
During the 2023-24 season coaching the Hawkeyes, Howarth led the team to triumphantly shatter the Hawkeye 54-hole school record by 17 strokes at the Westbrook Spring Invitational. Madison Dabagia and Paula Miranda, coached by Howarth, both achieved a school-best 209 (-7) at the Westbrook event.
Howarth’s Remarkable Academic Achievements:
In addition to her impressive coaching skills on the greens, Howarth is notable for her dedication to academia. All of her teams have achieved 3.47-grade point averages or higher. Her 2020-21 squad posted an impressive 3.80 team GPA. She mentored four WGCA Academic All-American Scholars and 20 Southland Conference Commissioner Honor Roll recipients during her time as head coach.
