The small town of Bryan, Texas, is coming together in a heartwarming display of solidarity following a devastating tragedy that has touched the lives of so many. The Beardsley family, who are enduring unimaginable grief after the loss of their beloved son Easton, is receiving an outpouring of love and support from their community.
On the morning of March 3, 2025, Allysa Beardsley and her young son, Easton, aged just 8 years, were involved in a terrible head-on collision near Normangee, Texas. The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on OSR, approximately two miles west of Normangee, when a GMC Sierra pickup truck, which was trying to pass another vehicle, collided directly with the Beardsleys’ Chevrolet Traverse.
Both drivers suffered serious injuries from this unfortunate incident and were promptly transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan. Unfortunately, Easton faced even greater challenges as he was flown by helicopter to a hospital in The Woodlands for specialized care.
Tragically, Easton succumbed to his injuries on March 4, surrounded by his loved ones. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his parents, Allysa and Franklin Beardsley, a dedicated detective with the Bryan Police Department, as well as his older brother, Mason.
In a selfless act, Easton’s organs were donated, bringing hope and life-saving options to others in dire need. While this is a glimmer of comfort amidst the deep sorrow, the grief faced by the Beardsley family is immeasurable.
The community has quickly rallied around the Beardsleys during this heartbreaking time. To honor Easton’s memory, members of the Bryan Police Department are selling wristbands, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Beardsley family. This effort reflects the unity and compassion shared by residents in Bryan.
Furthermore, local police departments and community organizations have initiated various fundraising efforts to support this family in their time of need. Community members are strongly encouraged to contribute to the Beardsley family through monetary donations instead of sending flowers or purchasing wristbands. Donations can be made via Venmo, with clear instructions provided for designating the intended recipient.
Easton, affectionately known as “Boogie,” was a vibrant child known for his spirited personality and infectious energy. As loved ones gathered to reminisce about the happiness he brought to their lives, it is evident that he left a significant mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service is planned to honor Easton’s life and legacy on March 14, 2025, at First Baptist Bryan. The community is invited to come together to celebrate a life that, though short, was filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments.
With the weight of medical expenses and the challenges that lie ahead, the Beardsley family needs our collective help now more than ever. Whether you choose to donate through Venmo, participate in fundraising events, or simply share messages of support, every gesture counts.
The love and support from the Bryan community during this tragic time demonstrate a heartwarming example of humanity coming together. With compassion and kindness, let’s stand shoulder to shoulder with the Beardsley family as they navigate this turbulent chapter of their lives.
