Bryan Prepares for Brazos Valley Gives Day: A Day of Community Generosity and Support

Bryan Gears Up for Brazos Valley Gives Day: A Community Celebration of Generosity

Hey there, Bryan! Are you ready for an exciting day filled with hope, generosity, and community spirit? Next Tuesday, we’re gearing up for the much-anticipated Brazos Valley Gives Day, a heartwarming event that celebrates our local nonprofits and the incredible work they do in our community. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, as it culminates into an 18-hour give fest aimed at raising critical funds and awareness for various causes.

What is Brazos Valley Gives Day?

For those who may not know, Brazos Valley Gives Day is an annual monthlong giving initiative where nonprofits across the Brazos Valley have the chance to showcase their missions and collect donations. This incredible event is powered by the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley, which has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our communities since 2003. The foundation partners with donors and local businesses to create charitable endowment funds that can make a real difference.

Throughout the month of September and into October, a diverse group of nonprofits has been signing up to participate, covering a wide array of crucial issues such as children’s welfare, housing, animal sanctuaries, and hunger relief. Last year, the community came together and raised an astonishing $1.4 million for the nonprofit of their choice, which is truly a testament to our community spirit!

Aiming for a Record-Breaking Year

For 2024, the goal is even more ambitious with hopes to raise $1.5 million for 170 nonprofits. It’s an exciting time with 338 causes available for donations, meaning you can find a cause that resonates with you. Whether you are passionate about education, the environment, or supporting our furry friends, there’s something for everyone!

How Can You Get Involved?

Now, you’re probably wondering how you can be a part of this fantastic event! Well, it’s as easy as a few clicks or a visit to one of the designated locations on Tuesday, where you can donate cash or checks in person. Here are the locations and hours for that day:

  • The Eagle office at 1729 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Caldwell Civic Center at 103 Texas 21 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Navasota Center at 101 Stadium Drive from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Washington County Chamber of Commerce at 314 South Austin from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mark your calendars and plan to stop by one of these locations — every little bit helps! Plus, it’s a great way to meet fellow community members and learn more about the meaningful work being done right here in the Brazos Valley.

The Power of Giving

As we approach this day of giving, let’s remember the impact each of us can have. Collectively, we can help these nonprofits continue their essential work in the community, addressing the needs that matter most to us. Last year, a wonderful 8,754 volunteer hours were donated in support of these 168 nonprofits, showcasing the remarkable commitment our community has to serving others.

So, whether you can donate a little or a lot, or even if you can volunteer your time, every action makes a difference. Let’s come together this Brazos Valley Gives Day and show just how powerful our community can be when we unite for a common cause!
