Courtroom proceedings reflecting recent criminal cases in Brazos County.
John Walker Jr., a 46-year-old man from Bryan, has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to 30 probation violations. Originating from a serious family violence case in 2013, Walker’s case has prompted attention in the Brazos County legal system, where other significant criminal cases have emerged, including serious charges related to assault, theft, and drug possession. The community is left grappling with these unsettling developments as the judicial system works to address ongoing criminal activities.
Bryan, a city known for its charm and warmth, has recently witnessed a flurry of legal happenings that have caught the attention of many locals. In a courtroom decision that shook the community, John Walker Jr., a 46-year-old man, is heading to prison after admitting to an astonishing 30 probation violations over a span of three years.
Walker was originally placed on probation back in October 2019 for a serious case of family violence aggravated assault that took place in October 2013. The incident resulted in significant bodily harm to a victim, and it all traces back to when Walker was just 34 years old. As part of a plea agreement, he has been sentenced to three years in prison, although he will receive credit for the time he has already served. Interestingly, a charge filed against him for possession of a controlled substance in 2023 was dropped as part of this arrangement.
As Walker’s case unfolded, others have also surfaced within the bustling courthouse of Brazos County. Zachary Guyton, a 40-year-old man, has been handed an eight-year prison sentence on March 7, 2025, for his involvement in some serious criminal activities, including tampering with government records and unauthorized vehicle use. Guyton made headlines when he sold a stolen two-ton truck, complete with a fake title, for a hefty sum of $47,000. The illegal activities came to light when a resident complained about issues with a vehicle purchased from him. This man remains behind bars and is grappling with four additional warrants from Travis County related to theft and forgery.
Shifting from property crimes to more serious violent offenses, Louis Anthony Hernandez, 36 years old, was recently arrested following a shocking report that he stabbed and assaulted his girlfriend. Charged with family violence aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Hernandez is currently confined without bond, facing a staggering total of $86,000 in bond amounts.
The list of troubling events does not end there. A man named Tyson Henson, 50, stands accused of sexual assault of a child. This serious allegation came to light when inappropriate messages were unearthed by the child’s mother. With a bond set at $300,000, Henson remains in custody and awaits further legal proceedings.
Another suspect in the mix, Michael Hopson, 48, has been apprehended for possessing about $90,000 worth of cocaine and has faced charges for strangling a woman during an altercation. He is currently jailed with a bond amounting to $108,000. Astonishingly, he was previously released on bond for other felony offenses.
The younger generation isn’t exempt from trouble either. A 19-year-old named Aaron Bazy was caught during a traffic stop with nearly 3 pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana. Fortunately, he managed to get released after posting a $5,000 bond.
The community is also grappling with a troubling firearm smuggling operation linked to three individuals—Gregory Chambers, Devontae Franklin, and Trederrious Jeffery. Thanks to diligent police work, this organized crime, involving stolen guns, was unearthed following jail phone calls that hinted at the illicit activities.
Lastly, the heart-wrenching story of a murder has gripped the community. Brandon Dickerson, 29, now faces murder charges for allegedly shooting and killing his wife, Alexis Walls. A bond of $250,000 has been set for him as the case unfolds, leaving a community in shock.
With numerous cases and violations making headlines in Brazos County, residents can’t help but feel a mixture of concern and curiosity. The legal system continues to play its part, addressing criminal activities that touch various lives in our community. As these stories develop, the hope lies in healing and justice for all involved.
