June 19, 2024, Bryan, Texas – A residential search operation led to multiple charges being levelled at a couple in Bryan after law enforcement officials discovered numerous drugs at their abode.
Matthew Hayhurst, 30, and Filomena Gomez, 26, were taken into police custody on Tuesday following the implementation of a search warrant at their home located in the 1800 block of Beck Street. The law enforcement operation was executed by Bryan PD’s Special Investigations Division that discovered a large quantity of illegal substances on the premises.
The substances discovered in the search operation reportedly included suspected cocaine, marijuana, and promethazine with codeine. During the course of their investigation, local law enforcement observed that the house was frequented by multiple visitors, prompting suspicions of the house being a possible hub for drug trafficking.
Matthew Hayhurst and Filomena Gomez now face numerous drug-related charges, including manufacturing with intent to distribute. This incident highlights law enforcement’s continuing commitment and vigilance to cracking down on drug-related crimes within the local community.
Both individuals have been taken into custody, with Gomez’s bonds amounting to a total of $115,000 while Hayhurst’s bonds reach a significantly higher figure of $240,350.
