This Wednesday, the Bryan Fire Department stepped in to handle a fire at Crystal Clear Cleaning, located in the bustling Brookwood Square on E. 29th Street. The incident was reported around 10 p.m., and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

However, the smoke from this fire didn’t stop at just one business. It spread to neighboring spots, affecting a variety of local businesses, including a smoke shop, an alterations shop, a staffing center, a hair salon, and a computer repair store. The extent of the damage inside Crystal Clear Cleaning is still being assessed, but firefighters are already on the case, investigating what could have sparked this late-night blaze.

Apartment Complex Evacuated After Fire

1 p.m., firefighters were called to another blaze at an apartment complex on Wellborn Road. The flames ignited from a unit’s back balcony and quickly spread to the stairs, causing a wave of evacuations as the emergency teams swung into action.

Luckily, again, no one was injured, but it wasn’t without a scare. Over half of the apartment building was displaced due to the fire, prompting the need for immediate assistance to those affected. Residents should expect delays and a lane closure on Wellborn at Deacon, as recovery efforts are underway.

Explosion Reported in Burleson County

explosion rocked an oil pad site shortly after 11 a.m.. The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the incident occurred at a nonoperational oil pad. Thankfully, all employees were accounted for, and no injuries resulted from this dangerous situation.

The source of the explosion was linked to a fiberglass tank at the oil pad, which may have ignited due to static electricity from the recent weather. The owner of the oil well stated that a spark from natural gas was the likely culprit. Thankfully, there was a quick response from the Caldwell Fire Department, who swiftly controlled the fire, preventing further damages.

Natural Gas Leak in Neighborhood

Sharon Drive and Esther Boulevard. Local authorities acted quickly, leading to the evacuation of several residents. Fortunately, the leak was successfully stopped just before 9 p.m. It was attributed to a contractor hitting a gas line while performing culvert work.
