Recent fire incidents and an explosion have swept through local businesses and communities in Bryan and Burleson County, leading to evacuations and emergency responses. The Bryan Fire Department tackled a fire at Crystal Clear Cleaning, affecting nearby businesses, while a separate incident involved an explosion at an oil pad site in Burleson County. Authorities managed evacuations from an apartment complex due to a fire, and a natural gas leak prompted the swift evacuation of residents nearby. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in any of these events.
In the charming cities of Bryan and Burleson County, residents have been busy dealing with some significant incidents that have shaken their communities. This Wednesday, the Bryan Fire Department stepped in to handle a fire at Crystal Clear Cleaning, located in the bustling Brookwood Square on E. 29th Street. The incident was reported around 10 p.m., and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
However, the smoke from this fire didn’t stop at just one business. It spread to neighboring spots, affecting a variety of local businesses, including a smoke shop, an alterations shop, a staffing center, a hair salon, and a computer repair store. The extent of the damage inside Crystal Clear Cleaning is still being assessed, but firefighters are already on the case, investigating what could have sparked this late-night blaze.
Luckily, again, no one was injured, but it wasn’t without a scare. Over half of the apartment building was displaced due to the fire, prompting the need for immediate assistance to those affected. Residents should expect delays and a lane closure on Wellborn at Deacon, as recovery efforts are underway.
The source of the explosion was linked to a fiberglass tank at the oil pad, which may have ignited due to static electricity from the recent weather. The owner of the oil well stated that a spark from natural gas was the likely culprit. Thankfully, there was a quick response from the Caldwell Fire Department, who swiftly controlled the fire, preventing further damages.
