Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team Struggles in District Opener Against College Station

Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team Faces Tough Start in District Opener

In the friendly city of Brenham, all eyes were glued to the volleyball court as the Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team launched their season in district play. Unfortunately, their first match didn’t go quite as planned, as they fell to the College Station Lady Cougars with a score of 3-1. Let’s break down what happened and look at what’s coming next for our local champions!

The Match in Review

Right from the get-go, the atmosphere was electric as both teams hit the court. But the Lady Cougars swiftly took charge, claiming the first set 25-18. It was a tough start for the Cubettes, who were clearly determined to shake off the nerves.

However, the adrenaline kicked in during the second set when the Cubettes found their rhythm and fought back courageously, winning it 25-17. Fans erupted with cheers, and hope was restored as Brenham showed its true colors and skills.

But the excitement was short-lived as College Station came back strong, winning the remaining sets 25-13 and 25-21. It was a fierce battle, but the Cubettes demonstrated resilience and heart, traits that their coach and fans alike are proud of. Despite the loss, there were plenty of moments that showcased the team’s talent and potential for growth as the season unfolds.

What’s Next for the Cubettes?

With this tough start behind them, the Brenham Cubettes have made the decision to keep moving forward and stay active, even with a scheduled bye day on Tuesday. Instead of resting, they opted to host a non-district match against the George Ranch team, which will kick off at 6 PM at the Brenham High School Gym. This is a fantastic opportunity for the team to regroup and focus on sharpening their skills outside of district play.
