COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Local entrepreneurs Samuel Smith and Nina Kaczorowski ventured into the spotlight as they competed in a Reality TV show for business owners, ‘The Blox’. The duo was among the fortunate 80 chosen from over 60,000 applications received from across the country, marking a monumental step in their entrepreneurial journey.
The spotlighted show, ‘The Blox’, is a week-long live competition aimed at shaping the business skills of entrepreneurs. It also facilitates nationwide networking, presenting participants with the opportunity to learn from and connect with other like-minded competitors across the United States.
Known as “Small Business Surgeon”, Smith took the challenge head-on despite initial reluctance. Talking about the experience, Smith said, “It was incredibly stressful — there’s no do over. What you say is what’s being recorded — that’s your brand, And your brand is you’re the ‘Small Business Surgeon’, you’re the best at this — and so if you’re not, then you’re a liar.”
Having packed their bags and headed to Oklahoma for a week, the duo experienced daily business classes and afternoons filled with intense live presentation rounds. The competition would culminate each day with the best performers competing on stage during the evening rounds.
Having amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience, the pair are eager to bring it back to the Brazos Valley.
In 2020, when the world was grappling with the harsh realities of a pandemic, Smith sought to create a positive ripple in his local community. Smith said, “I started the BCS business owners and entrepreneurs networking group, and it went really well — the goal of the group is just to network people together, act as a conduit and help influence the local entrepreneur community.”
With skills sharpened by the intense competition on ‘The Blox’, Smith and Kaczorowski are poised to provide a significant boost to their local entrepreneurial community. ‘The Blox’ can be streamed via their official app, and previous seasons can be found on Amazon Video.
Early indications suggest Smith, Kaczorowski and their BCS Business Owners and Entrepreneurs Networking group will continue to build on the success they have achieved so far. Their unique vision for the business landscape in the Brazos Valley promises further development and success for businesses in the area.
More updates will follow as Smith’s BCS Business Owners and Entrepreneurs networking group continue their work and implement strategies learned from their time on ‘The Blox’.
