Brazos County Duo Accused of Two Year Long Mail and Bank Card Thefts

Two citizens arrested in Brazos County

College Station, Texas— A local duo was apprehended by police this Tuesday in response to allegations of mail and bank card theft over a two-year span. The suspects were found in possession of stolen property, including bank cards and hundreds of mail pieces.

Suspect Arrest Details

College Station police were alerted by a gas station employee about a suspicious vehicle. Upon arriving at the Chevron on FM 158, authorities discovered Tarah Hill, 33, originally from Bryan, and Cody Polanco, 24, from Katy, asleep in the car. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed extensive traces of suspicious activities.

Search Findings

Upon conducting a proper search, officers uncovered hundreds of pieces of mail which did not belong to either Hill or Polanco. In addition to an array of 19 bank cards, controlled substances, marijuana, and a sum exceeding $12,600 in cash were found in the car as well. Following their arrest, Hill confessed to the pair’s prolonged illicit activities, recounting how they had crafted their counterfeit keys and broken into mailboxes to pillage mail over the previous two years.

Mugshot and Immediate Consequence

Both Hill and Polanco were delivered into the custody of the local County Jail where they face multiple hefty charges, including abuse of debit and credit cards. Hill is currently held on bonds amounting to $48,000, while Polanco’s bail is set at $59,000.

Community Reaction

The shocking revelation of these dubious activities in the heart of Brazos County has been unsettling for the local community. Many are calling for stricter regulations and increased vigilance to deter such bold criminal endeavors, particularly those involving the violation of personal privacy and property.

Investigation Ongoing

Despite the substantial admission and damning evidence, the investigation is far from over. As investigators dig deeper, they expect additional victims to emerge and the charges against Hill and Polanco to accumulate accordingly. For now, both defendants remain in custody awaiting their day in court.

All charged parties are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
