Blinn Board Approves Furniture, Audio-Visual Purchases for Bryan Campus

On May 22, 2024, the Blinn Board of Trustees approved the purchase of furniture and audio-visual equipment for the new Bryan Campus Administration Building, propelling the completion of the $31 million venture towards its projected completion date in February 2025.

A New Face For A New Campus

Currently stationed at the Tejas Center in Bryan, the administrative services will be transferred into the newly constructed 46,000-square-foot facility. Situated at the intersection of Nash Street and Villa Maria Road, the Bryan Campus will house administrative space, prospective student relations, business services, human resources, and a meeting room for up to 300 people.

On-Site Features and Amenities

Apart from the primary office space, the Bryan Campus is designed to facilitate ease of movement and accessibility. In addition to the aforementioned services, the campus will encompass a monument sign, a circular entry drive, and a plaza with parking available for around 10 visitors. Pedestrian walkways and a parking lot capable of holding up to 180 vehicles are also included in the site’s plan.

The Road to Completion

Once complete, the new Bryan Campus Administration Building aims to centralize services that were previously divided between the college’s current location and its student services hub at the Tejas Center. This move will mark an important milestone for Blinn College as it continually enhances the college experience for staff and students alike.

Other Business Approvals

During the same meeting, the Board of Trustees also received a growth and development report from the Texas A&M University System Director of Texas A&M-RELLIS, Kelly Templin. Approval was also granted for the College to negotiate and execute a private utility easement agreement with Cebridge Acquisition, L.P., an Altice USA, Inc., subsidiary. This move hints at the expected modern features and facilities this new administrative building will possess, emphasizing the college’s commitment to staying connected and competitive in the technology-driven 21st century.

Future Prospects

The approval of the equipment and furniture reveals the board’s determination to make the Bryan Campus a functional and modern space for its staff and students. This achievement is a significant step in achieving the efficient co-location of services and marks the beginning of a transformative era for Blinn college as it steps into the future.
