COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Authorities in College Station made an arrest early Saturday morning after a man reportedly pointed a gun at another individual on Northgate. The event occurred around 2:30 a.m. where a victim approached the closest officer and informed them about the threatening circumstance.
The accused, 30-year-old Shaquan Ronald Rhoades, a resident of Bryan, was spotted by a bicycle officer in the parking lot of Chimy’s. When the officer attempted to arrest Rhoades, he reportedly disregarded the official and sped off in his vehicle. A patrolling vehicle from the College Station Police Department (CSPD) managed to purse the suspect and stop his car at the junction of First Street and Louise.
Upon detaining Rhoades and his two passengers, a firearm was discovered in the vehicle. Bit by Bit, it became clear that the accused is in serious trouble due to his reckless actions.
Consequently, Rhoades was arrested and charged with multiple offenses including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Disorderly Conduct by Displaying a Firearm, and Evading in a Vehicle. The seriousness of the charges indicate the severity of the suspect’s actions.
Interestingly, the victim supposedly sustained a minor injury due to a physical assault. Nevertheless, the victim’s identity has not been disclosed for security reasons.
Despite the tension of the situation, the two passengers in Rhoades’ vehicle were released without any charges. Their cooperation with law enforcement was appreciated, indicating their innocence in the ordeal.
The College Station Police’s swift action ensured the safety of the community. Their effective response to the information provided by the victim helped thwart a potential danger. This incident serves as a reminder to citizens about the importance of alerting law enforcement about any suspicious activities in their community.
