In College Station, Texas, passion for Texas A&M extends far beyond the university itself. A prime example of this enthusiasm is the recent creation of a massive Texas A&M logo on a local homeowner’s lawn, thanks to Aggie Turf Club and Green Teams Inc.

A Grand Gesture of Support

In an unprecedented show of support, the Aggie Turf Club has painted a 36-by-36 foot A&M logo on a homeowner’s lawn. The excitement was palpable as they carefully brought to life this incredible masterpiece, just in time for the weekend’s game day.
Brent Doti, a representative from the club, says his work mantra is simple. “We make thoughts become things. If the client can think it, we can build it. And then we come back and maintain it, so it always looks exactly like they want,” he said.

Supporting Education

The logo wasn’t just about fan spirit; it also served a noble cause. The homeowner’s wife made a donation to the Aggie Turf Club to make the exciting project achievable. The funds will significantly assist the club’s educational events and national conferences, opening up vivid learning opportunities for its members.

According to Weston Floyd, a research specialist with Texas A&M Soil and Crop Science, such opportunities substantially benefit students aspiring to make their careers in the landscaping industry. “Being able to send these students to these events, it changes their lives if they’re serious about this industry,” said Floyd.

A Job Well Executed

Executing the giant logo on the lawn was indeed a mammoth task. The students of the Aggie Turf Club spent a significant span of three and a half weeks planning and implementing the project. Brent Doti expressed his satisfaction over the job by stating, “It’s all about an emotional response from our clients so that they feel satisfied. When we show up, they know we’re going to do a good job, and when we leave, they’re satisfied.”

The turfgrass industry, involving homes, athletic fields, parks, and sod farms, welcomed this creative venture with open arms, setting a new benchmark for university spirit and dedication.
