This community-wide celebration is organized by Texas A&M University and the Brazos Valley Worldfest Board. We’d like to express our gratitude to our planning partners for their participation and support in international education.
In 2005, Texas A&M University and its several planning partners began work on the US Department of Education’s International Education Week. The festivities of International Education Week grew over the next two years, culminating in the first Brazos Valley Worldfest on November 17, 2007.
In 2009, the festival was invited to the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater in College Station. The City of College Station shares the idea that making our town more welcoming to international residents and visitors will only help to showcase the Brazos Valley to the rest of the world. The festival had a high year with an estimated attendance of 13,000 to 15,000 people.
After several years of terrible weather, the festival relocated to the pavilion at the Brazos County Expo Complex in 2017. New performances, cultural displays, and activities are added to the festival on a regular basis. International Candy Shop is a new addition to the 2018 lineup.
Cultural displays, demonstrations, international food, performances, children’s crafts, storytelling, and a variety of other events are all part of the Brazos Valley Worldfest. These events have grown to include an International Film Series in the fall and Culture Club dinners throughout the year, in addition to the one-day festival.
BRAND NEW FOR 2020: Brazos Valley Worldfest is teaming with the Downtown Bryan Association and Destination Bryan to stage the festival in Downtown Bryan and to coincide with their annual Family Festival. We are excited to provide virtual Cultural Displays in 2020.

Chilifest Music Festival is a two-day event managed by Chilifest Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded to professionally manage and coordinate CHILIFEST, the Brazos Valley’s most anticipated event. Miller Lite has been the Exclusive Title Sponsor of Chilifest for the past 26 years, represented by Kristen Distributing Company of Bryan, Texas. They collaborate flawlessly with KDC and the Chilifest Chairmen to create an event that is remembered year after year!
Chilifest Inc. has a spotless track record of success, having entertained thousands of people and attracting some of country music’s best acts to our area throughout the years. Chilifest is undeniably unique: it is committed to putting on a magnificent event, with all earnings helping the community to support a variety of worthwhile organizations.
Since its start, Chilifest Inc. has donated almost $3 MILLION DOLLARS to the Brazos Valley and surrounding area. Each spring, they have demonstrated that Texas music attracts devoted fans to the Starlight Ballroom in Snook, where fifteen acres of pasture land are turned into a two-day celebration with chili, exciting lineups, and plenty of fun.
All of the hoopla, however, cannot overshadow Chilifest’s main goal: “to provide aid to thousands of sick, neglected, and less fortunate individuals; as well as to provide cash for the various organizations that work to tackle the life-threatening conditions that imperil so many people’s lives.”
Chilifest, Inc. and KDC are appreciative to everyone who has attended and to everyone who has contributed to the success of this event year after year.
