Big Book Bonanza Coming to Bryan-College Station!
Hey there, book lovers of Bryan! Are you ready to dive into a sea of pages and pick up your next great read? Well, you’re in luck! The Bryan-College Station Friends of the Library is gearing up to host its much-anticipated fall book sale, and it’s happening at the Clara B. Mounce Public Library this Friday! Mark your calendars because this is one event you won’t want to miss.
A Treasure Trove Awaits You
From collectibles to children’s stories, this book sale is packed with options for every kind of reader. According to board member Deb Sappington, there’s even a special collection of books that once belonged to former President George H.W. Bush. “There are some treasures,” she happily shared, making sure we all know there’s more to this sale than just your average paperbacks.
Whether you’re a parent looking for new bedtime stories, a teen wanting the latest series, or an adult in search of that perfect escape novel, you’re going to want to check this out! The sale features a gorgeous mix of children’s and teen books, adult books, and even autographed copies across various genres and subjects.
Price It Right!
Now let’s talk about the best part: the deals! For just $20 per shopping bag on Friday and Saturday, you can fill it up with as many books as will fit. On Sunday, it gets even better with bags priced at just $10. Imagine snagging up to 30 books in one go for twenty bucks! According to board member Donna Pohl, “We have 30 books in a bag right now, so it’s a real opportunity.” However, do note that the collectible items will be priced individually, so keep an eye on those special finds!
When and How to Get In
If you can’t wait to get your hands on these books, early birds rejoice! The sale will open exclusively to the Friends of the Library members first, giving just a little glimpse into what’s in store. Get in early on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 9:30 a.m.. Would you like to become a member? Memberships will be available for purchase at the door, so you can jump right in!
For everyone else, the doors will swing open to the public on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.. And guess what? General admission is completely free!
Support Your Local Library
Every dollar spent at this book sale will go straight back into the Bryan-College Station Public Library system. That means your purchases help fund fantastic programs like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, book clubs, and weekly story times. So, not only do you get to discover new stories, but you’re also giving back to your community!
Looking Ahead
After this exciting weekend filled with books and bargains, the Friends of the Library have even more to look forward to as they celebrate 70 years of service. Stay tuned for more updates and events later this year!
So, friendly folks of Bryan, grab your shopping bags and get ready to bag some brilliant books. Happy reading!
