Texas Colleges Move-in, Start Dates for Fall 2024 Semester
Introduction
As July concludes, attention in the Lone Star State turns to the impending academic year, and it isn’t only younger students experiencing the anticipation. College students are gearing up to return to campuses and embark on the Fall 2024 semester. There are approximately 1.56 million students in Texas, making it the second state in the US with the largest population of college-goers, outpaced only by California. Here, we present the move-in and start dates for a few of the foremost universities across Texas.
Texas A&M University at College Station: Aug. 19
With an enrollment of over 74,000 students, Texas A&M is both the largest university in Texas and across the United States. The Fall 2024 semester move-in appointments for students are between Thursday, August 15th and Sunday, August 18th, with classes commencing Monday, August 19th.
University of Texas at Austin: Aug. 26
Nearly 52,000 students form part of University of Texas at Austin, one of the nation’s largest and premier research universities. Majority of students will move in on Friday, August 23rd and Saturday, August 24th, with classes beginning Monday, August 26th.
University of North Texas: Aug. 19
Among the nation’s largest public research universities, University of North Texas (UNT) saw record-high enrollment last Fall with nearly 47,000 students. Students can move onto campus as early as Friday, August 9th, with classes starting Monday, August 19th.
University of Houston: Aug. 19
Last fall, over 46,000 students were enrolled at the University of Houston. Students will move onto campus between Wednesday, August 14th and Saturday, August 17th. The commencement of the classes is on Monday, August 19th.
Texas Tech University: Aug. 22
Texas Tech University (TTU) welcomed over 40,000 students in Fall 2022. TTU students will converge on campus between Thursday, August 15th and Sunday, August 18th. The first day of classes is Thursday, August 22nd.
Texas State University: Aug. 26
As of Spring 2024, over 35,000 students were enrolled in Texas State University (TXST). New students will move onto the TXST campus from Saturday, August 17th to Monday, August 19th. The first day of classes is Monday, August 26th.
