Bryan Trio Indicted on Charges Related to 2023 Homicide Investigation

Bryan, Texas Trio Indicted for Involvement in Homicide

In a significant development in a 2023 homicide case, a grand jury in Brazos County has indicted three individuals for allegedly tampering with evidence linked to the murder. Anthony Jamal Currie, 20, Lamarco Andrell Joshua, 21, both of Bryan, and Meakeyleetrieceiavia Nowlin, 25, of College Station, have all been charged in reference to the shooting death of 22-year-old Courtaney Jermaine O’Bryant.

The Alleged Crime

The tragic incident occurred on June 5, 2023, in the 3300 block of S College Avenue in Bryan, wherein the victim Courtaney Jermaine O’Bryant lost his life. Investigators believe that the accused trio attempted to conceal evidence by hiding O’Bryant’s cell phone and the gun reportedly used in the murder.

Arrest and Bond Details

The trio was arrested in April of this year, with bond for each set at $100,000. As of press time, defendant Anthony Currie and Lamarco Joshua continue to be held in the Brazos County Detention Center. Meanwhile, Meakeyleetrieceiavia Nowlin, was released back in April on a $100,000 bond.

It is noteworthy that Nowlin was reportedly arrested at the Bryan/College Station TDCJ Parole office, where she had been employed since July 2023. She is currently on leave without pay due to the pending criminal charges, according to a TDCJ spokesperson.

As the investigation continues, the authorities have yet to reveal a motive behind the shooting. The community continues to await further details on this crime that took a life far too soon.
