Heightened Patrols Around Hensel Park Following Suspicious Activity

The Texas A&M University Police Department has bolstered patrols in the area surrounding College Station’s Hensel Park. This increase in police presence came after an anonymous tip about suspicious behavior in the area was received on Wednesday, June 12.
New Light on the Anonymous Tip
The anonymous tip revealed two unidentified individuals were allegedly attempting to lure underage high school students into the wooded surroundings of the park. The intentions of the two alleged suspects were inferred to be of a sexual nature. As it currently stands, it is unclear if the individual who provided the anonymous tip had first-hand experience with the accused, or obtained this information via second-hand means.
Immediate Actions
Following the tip, Police officers were immediately dispatched to the site but were unable to identify or apprehend any individuals matching the report. The surrounding area was subjected to thorough surveillance, but also failed to highlight any suspicious or unconventional activity.
