Bryan: Valuable Baseball and Maintenance Equipment Stolen from Local Park
In Bryan, Texas, the local Little League has been hit by an unexpected setback following a brazen theft. According to reports, baseball and field maintenance equipment was stolen from storage containers at Henderson Park. The incident allegedly took place between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Stolen Items Valued at $3,000
The stolen items, said to be worth around $3,000, were stored in locked connex boxes. They consisted of essential equipment needed for field maintenance and support of the league’s activities. The Bryan United Little League, which currently provides recreational opportunities for approximately 300 children between the ages of 5 and 15, expressed deep disappointment with the incident.
Little League President’s Agonizing Plea
Brenda Galvan, the Little League President, conveyed her frustration and anger over the theft. “We feel violated,” said Galvan. “We do this for the kids. We put a lot of effort into making sure that this is a safe place for the kids, for them to come and have fun.”
Community’s Magnificent Response and Continuity of Services
Despite this unfortunate event, the league’s activities continued unaffected. Thanks to volunteers’ timely intervention, the fields stayed in great condition. The league also took prompt measures to replace the locks on the storage containers.?
Galvan further explained that the adults decided to withhold information about the theft from the children to preserve their joy and enthusiasm. “Everything is back to normal so that the kids can come out here and have a great time and not have to worry about any of this,” she said.

The Bryan Police Department has undertaken an investigation into the theft and has appealed to the public for any information pertaining to the case. According to Seth Waller, the Bryan Police Public Information Officer, the stolen items are quite specific, thereby making it potentially easy to identify them if they resurface.
Desire for Restitution and Continuation of the League’s Activities
Despite the incident, there is hope at the baseball park that the individual responsible will return the stolen items recognizing that the children’s joy and opportunities provided far outweigh the value of the stolen equipment.
Galvan made an emotional plea for the return of the stolen items, “Please return all of the items that were taken. Again, this isn’t for me, it’s not for our board, this is for the kids.”
