TEXAS – Rising In-State OL Star Connor Carty Commits to Texas A&M
In a captivating move, Texas’ own offensive lineman, Connor Carty, has committed to Texas A&M. The announcement came on Thursday, shortly after his recent visit to College Station. Carty chose the Aggies over a host of other finalists including LSU, TCU, Missouri, USC, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Penn State.
Impressive Offer from the Aggies amid Strong Camp Showing
The 290-pound lineman, standing tall at 6-foot-4, bagged an offer from the Aggies following a strong camp showing last summer. On the heels of a change in staffs, Head Coach, Adam Cushing swiftly followed up with Carty, demonstrating the value A&M places on the talented Prosper lineman. Following an initial junior day visit back in January, Carty revisited earlier this month to observe a spring practice. He also has an official visit scheduled with A&M for June.
First Taste of Kyle Field Despite A&M’s Loss
Carty’s past visit to College Station gave him his first taste of Kyle Field when the Aggies hosted Alabama. Although A&M fell short, the thrill of the game day left a huge impression on him. “That was crazy, man. It was 100,000 people in the stands doing all those chants and stuff. It was a great game. Alabama pulled away at the last second. They just got some new facilities at A&M. It was great to see all that new stuff. It’s just crazy,” Carty said.
Carty’s Commitment Boosts A&M’s Roster and Rankings
Carty’s decision to commit to Texas A&M follows two other commitments over the weekend, further solidifying the Aggies recruiting run. The Prosper offensive lineman has become the third offensive line commitment from the 2025 cycle. The previous two were Denton Ryan offensive tackle Marcus Garcia and Legacy Sciences interior offensive lineman Joshua Moses. Their commitments bring A&M’s total to eight, lifting their class to the No. 13 spot nationally, outpacing regional rival Texas Tech.
