Police Vehicle Builder to Establish its New Hub in the Brazos Valley

Breaking Ground in Sommerville

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – In a significant economic development for the Brazos Valley, Dana Safety Supply, a leading company in the production of police vehicles, announced its plans to set up shop in the region. Having constructed law enforcement transportation throughout North America since 2005, Dana Safety’s latest venture includes transforming an old FedEx Building in Sommerville, located near Snook, into their newest manufacturing facility. This move marks the notable establishment of the company’s 36th location, progressively expanding its Texas footprint.

Already positioned at five prime Texas locations, Dana Safety is ready to bolster its services with the addition of this new site situated conveniently within a 20-minute drive from College Station.

Boosting Local Economy

The decision to bring a significant business to the Bryan-College Station area has been welcomed with enthusiasm by the local Chamber of Commerce. Royce Hickman, a representative from the BCS Chamber of Commerce, expressed excitement about the economic prospects and safety improvements the firm would bring to the area. He touted the company’s mission as noteworthy, given the particular emphasis on servicing those who protect the community.

Already firmly integrated within the community, Dana Safety has a standing partnership with Operation Safe Shield, an initiative that assists in fitting patrol vehicles with bullet-resistant windshields.

A Welcome Addition

While some local law enforcement agencies already have contracts with other providers, the arrival of Dana Safety offers an alternative for those without existing contracts or those interested in exploring new options. Given the central location in the Texas triangle, this new facility stands to benefit police departments and other safety services in a radius of up to 300 miles.

The company’s CEO, David Russo, has expressed pride in the firm’s status as a dedicated corporate citizen of Texas. Not only does the company currently employ over 100 Texans, but they also plan on steadily increasing this number with every passing month.

Jobs and Future Prospects

Dedicated to local workforce employment and development, the company embarks on a mission to hire 15 emergency vehicle technicians when they officially open for business. As Royce Hickman emphasizes the value of providing a diverse range of job opportunities for retaining the educated youth population in the community, the arrival of Dana Safety is seen as a crucial step in that direction.

By enhancing local employment opportunities and contributing to the municipality’s safety, Dana Safety Supply stands to define a new epoch in the development of the area.
